About DITEC
Didactic Technologies for IT Education (DITEC) is a two-year Erasmus+ cooperation partnership (2025–2027) that brings together universities, enterprises, and technology associations to reshape how Information Technology education meets real-world needs.
The project develops and pilots innovative didactic approaches, micro-courses, and collaborative frameworks that connect academia, industry, and end-users in a continuous learning ecosystem. By combining research-based pedagogy with practical engagement from businesses and IT professionals, DITEC aims to make IT curricula more responsive, applied, and inclusive. The project is coordinated by Tallinn University of Technology with partners from Estonia, Germany and Cyprus, representing higher education institutions, SMEs, and sectoral experts.
Duration: September 2025 – August 2027
Funding: Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union
Total Grant: €400,000
Project Code: 2025-1-EE01-KA220-HED-000360808
Background and Rationale
Rapid digital transformation has reshaped the skills demanded in the IT sector, yet higher education often struggles to keep pace with evolving industry practices, user expectations, and emerging technologies. DITEC was conceived to bridge this gap by introducing didactic innovation that aligns university-level IT education with the realities of digital business environments and user-centred design. Current IT study programmes frequently emphasize technical competence but underrepresent collaboration, adaptability, and real-time problem solving-skills critical in modern workplaces. At the same time, businesses and end-users increasingly expect graduates who can integrate technology with human-centred solutions.
DITEC responds by:
- Designing methodologies that integrate business and end-user engagement into IT teaching.
- Developing micro-courses that allow flexible, practice-oriented learning for both students and professionals.
- Piloting a new “Innovation in IT Education” course, combining the strengths of academia, industry, and end-users.
- Establishing a sustainable collaboration framework that continues beyond the project’s lifetime.
Through these actions, DITEC contributes to more agile, industry-relevant, and inclusive IT education across Europe.
