The Didactic Technologies for IT Education (DITEC) consortium successfully held its latest project meeting at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. Partners from Estonia, Germany, and Cyprus gathered in Frankfurt to advance collaborative work on reshaping IT education for the next generation of engineers.

The meeting focused on practical strategies for improving the alignment between university curricula, industry expectations, and emerging labour-market trends. Through intensive discussions and hands-on planning sessions, the partners explored how academic programs can better respond to the rapidly evolving skills required in the IT sector.

Upcoming Activities

In the next phase of the project, the consortium will initiate several key actions:

  • Industry Round Tables to strengthen cooperation between universities and employers

  • Collection of insights on company expectations for future IT engineers

  • Engagement with end-users and system clients to gather practical feedback

  • Translation of findings into enhanced teaching methods and skill-development approaches in higher education

These steps aim to narrow the gap between academic preparation and real-world demands, helping universities equip IT students with the competencies needed for successful careers.

The DITEC consortium looks forward to sharing further updates as the next work packages progress.
