The Cyprus Round Table: Integrating Artificial Intelligence and Soft Skills into IT Education will be organised by the University of Nicosia and ECECT within the framework of the ERASMUS+ DITEC project (Project code: 2025-1-EE01-KA220-HED-000360808).
The DITEC project aims to modernise IT education by integrating artificial intelligence, real-world industry input, and transversal (soft) skills into higher-education curricula. It focuses on strengthening collaboration between academia, industry, and end-users, and on developing practical, user-centred teaching approaches that respond to the evolving demands of AI-driven workplaces. As part of its activities, DITEC is organising a series of round table events across consortium countries, including Estonia, Germany, and Cyprus, bringing together key stakeholders to exchange perspectives and co-create solutions for future-ready IT education. This initiative is particularly relevant for academic staff, curriculum designers, industry professionals, and organisations involved in digital transformation who wish to contribute their perspectives and help shape future-ready IT education.
Building on these objectives, the Cyprus Round Table serves as a practical working forum where participants can exchange experiences, reflect on current educational and workforce challenges, and jointly explore actionable ways to embed AI-related and transversal competencies into IT programmes. The event emphasises dialogue, co-creation, and the translation of real organisational needs into educational practice.
The session will include:
-
Presentation of key project outcomes and cross-analysis results
-
Open discussion from industry and academic perspectives
-
A co-creation workshop focused on developing real-world case studies based on organisational challenges
The insights gathered during the event will directly contribute to the development of educational materials and strengthen cooperation between higher education and industry.
